This week I discovered a new Chinese takeaway place, at the bottom of St Boltoph’s street; Noodle Express. It is new to the street and has not disappointed! The food is made right in front of your eyes on a hot plate, so you know exactly what is happening to your food and where it is coming from. There is two bars to sit at if you do want to sit in and eat. The staff are very friendly and polite and cater to your needs well. With many menu options and combinations, it is an ideal place to go if you want something little for yourself, or a takeaway for a night in with friends. There are many options to order, from rice and noodle dishes, to sushi or soup. They get many students visiting the noodle bar and therefore have great deals on. I frequently take advantage of the meal deal which allows you to order spring rolls, a rice or noodle dish, and a can of drink. I would highly recommend all the types of sushi, the Hong Kong rice and the Yaki chicken Udon noodles; I am yet to try more from the menu. There are other great meal deals to choose from, depending on the number of people or how hungry you are feeling. The food is authentic and delicious and a much healthier option than most other Chinese takeaways because of the hotplate they use, instead of deep fat fryers etc. They have an online menu on justeat.co.uk or studenteat.co.uk and they also deliver for a small fee for orders over £20. With friendly staff and great food, I would definitely recommend this establishment.
